To provide inclusive service to farmers despite their planting calendar, the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund(RCEF) seed program allocated and distributed high-quality inbred seeds for early planters in Nueva Vizcaya.
More than 1,000 bags of seeds are already distributed, and planted in an estimated area of 500 hectares this month. The province is known for its asynchronous cropping because of abundance of irrigation water, particularly in the municipalities of Villaverde, Bagabag, and Solano.
These farmers expect to harvest their rice crops in December-January, and will again plant for the regular cropping of DS2023.
