This year, the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) is on its fourth year of implementation as a package of support program that helps the rice farmers through the four program components: 1) Rice Farm Machinery and Equipment, 2) Rice Seed Development, Propagation, and Promotion, 3) Expanded Rice Credit Assistance, and 4) Rice Extension Services.

In its implementation, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) – MIMAROPA has been consistently promoting the programs through extension services. Among these are the massive information dissemination campaign and conduct of training in different farming technologies on inbred rice production. The provisions of these programs to the various stakeholders were found crucial in improving the performance of the palay/rice market system.

Through the partnership with local radio stations, the ATI MIMAROPA holds information dissemination campaign to intensify the promotion of the RCEF program and to speed up information to a wider audience. The radio plugs were aired on 101.7 FM Radyo Natin San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, DWXR 101.7 Kalahi FM Oriental Mindoro, and 104.5 FM Radyo Natin Brooke’s Point, Palawan.

Engr. Karen A. Tulay-Vicente, Agriculturist I and Ms. Jezell dT. dela Cruz, Information Officer II were guested and interviewed via phone patch to discuss and promote the mandates and programs of ATI MIMAROPA. They also enumerated the trainings and other extension activities that would be implemented in Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan. The said media promotions were also live streamed through the radio station’s Facebook Page.

The radio plugs and infomercials were aired on July 25-29, 2022.
