A 72-year-old farmer from New Bataan, Davao de Oro saved up to P3,000 from using the riding-type mechanical transplanter. He used to practice direct seeding that made him spend P8,000 per day.

Pedro M. Elumbaring shared this testimony during the PalaySikatan Field Day, Sept. 22-23, 2022. He also said that the machine has made farming easier for him considering his age.

“I am very lucky that I am still able to live today and have the chance to use the machine,” he said.

The PalaySikatan Field Day is conducted under the RCEF Seed Program to showcase the different inbred rice varieties and farm machine that help increase farmers’ yield and reduce their production cost.
