The Training of Trainers on Farm Business School (Batch 2) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program concluded on September 13, 2024, at ATI-RTC XII in San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato. The 10-day program, held from September 2-13, 2024, empowered 30 Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs), farmer leaders, and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from Region XII and BARMM with advanced skills in farm business management and entrepreneurship.
On September 6, 2024, Mr. John Mikel D. Ternida, Accountant I of ATI-RTC XII, led lessons on record-keeping, saving, and mobilizing finance. Engr. Teofilo T. Jumawan Jr., Planning Officer II of ATI-RTC XII, discussed value addition, emphasizing ways to enhance farm products’ marketability and profitability.
Participants also engaged in a benchmarking activity at JND Integrated Farm Institute Inc., Nilda’s Farm, and Organikian Urban Farm, gaining first hand insights into successful farm business practices.
Additionally, they were given the opportunity to develop and present comprehensive business plans with the help of Ms. Agripina A. Leonico, DPA, to foster practical application of their training.
The program culminated in a graduation ceremony where participants were awarded certificates of completion and special recognitions with their performance during the Business Plan Presentations. The team Masipag Palay Isdaan Enterprise received the award as Best Business Plan Presenter during the said training.
Moreover, Ms. May A. Guiang, Training Specialist II of ATI-RTC XII, delivered the closing message, encouraging them to apply their newfound knowledge to support and enhance sustainable agriculture in their communities. This training underscores ATI-RTC XII’s commitment to nurturing farm business acumen and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
