President Marcos Jr. distributes aid in Region I

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited Lingayen, Pangasinan to lead a significant event supporting local farmers, fisherfolk, and families on July 19. He distributed various forms of assistance, and awarded certificates of condonation, along with the release of mortgages.
A major highlight of the event was the awarding and signing of certificates of condonation under Republic Act (RA) No. 11953 also known as the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, by President Marcos Jr and DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III.

This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens of local farmers by condoning debts and releasing mortgages, allowing them to focus more on their agricultural activities without the looming pressure of debt.

Ang pamamahagi ngayong araw ng condonation na ito ay isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa hustisyang agrarian, kaisa niyo kami sa inyong mga hangarin. kami ay tapat sa pangakong susuportahan at palalakasin kayo sa bawat hakbang ng inyong paglalakbay” Marcos Jr. said.

Additionally, President Marcos underscored his administration’s commitment to uplift Philippine agriculture. He emphasized the need for farmers to adopt and explore the benefits of modern farming to help farmers, fisherfolks, and their families.

In line with this commitment, a total of P184.99M Presidential Assistance is set to be received by the Provincial Governments in Region 1: Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, La Union.

Meanwhile, PHilMech distributes farm machines amounting to Php10.4 million under the RCEF Mechanization Program, alongside other government agencies that provide additional cash grants and livelihood assistance to the local farmers, fisherfolks, and their families.

During his address, President Marcos assured the farming community of continued support from his administration to ensure the growth and progress of the agricultural sector.

Magtulungan tayong bumuo ng matatag na kinabukasan kung saan ang bawat magsasaka at mangingisda at pamilyang pilipino ay may kakayahang bumangon mula sa kahirapan at mapaunlad ang kanilang buhay. Kayo po ang mga bayani ng ating makabagong panahon, kayo ang mukha ng ating bagong pilipinas, mabuhay ang bagong Plipinas” President Marcos said.
