The farmers willingly chose through “like and dislike” emoji on the newly-released inbred rice series, adverse inbred rice varieties, commonly preferred inbred rice varieties, and hybrid rice varieties shown in the demonstration.
While doing a farmwalk, they selected based on the number of pods, maturity days and other agronomic characteristics of the variety through the rice seed app. About 130 farmers in Caraga attended the Participatory Variety Selection or PVS held at the TechnoPUSH Farmer’s Field Day and Forum last September to October 2023.
If the farmers want to invest in the RCEF program, they will receive these rice varieties. And they are grateful because they have seen the class-class performance of these rice varieties.
