ATI-RTC XII Launches New Learning Sites for Agriculture in South Cotabato.
On June 4, 2024, ATI-RTC XII inaugurated the St. Alexius College Demonstration Farm in San Felipe, Tantangan. This farm, which already supports agriculture programs under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), is now an LSA under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program. The demonstration farm will serve as an educational platform for students and farmers alike, promoting advanced farming techniques and sustainable agricultural practices.
In addition to the St. Alexius College Demonstration Farm, ATI-RTC XII also introduced the Pantua Farm in Kablon Tupi, popularly known as Farm Picks, as a new LSA under its regular program. Located in South Cotabato, Farm Picks is renowned for its specialization in fruit processing, particularly in creating jams and other preserves. This site will offer practical training and expertise in fruit processing, adding value to local produce and boosting the region’s agro-industrial sector.
Both the St. Alexius College Demonstration Farm and Pantua Farm will play crucial roles in equipping farmers and students with the knowledge and skills necessary for modern, sustainable agriculture.
These initiatives by ATI-RTC XII aim to improve agricultural productivity, support rural development, and empower local farmers with the resources they need to succeed. The new learning sites are expected to drive innovation and growth in South Cotabato’s agricultural sector, providing valuable learning opportunities and fostering a more resilient farming community.
