Training of Trainers on Inbred Rice Seed Production and Farm Mechanization for Farm School Owners (FS), Cooperators, Local Farmer Technicians (LFTs) and Agricultural Extension Workers in Region XII and BARMM (Batch 3) has started on June 3, 2024 at ATI-RTC XII, San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato.

During the opening program, Mr. Normuhaymin B. Arsad, Technical Staff, warmly acknowledged the 30 participants from Region XII and BARMM.

Meanwhile, Ms. Shirley L. Beldia, OIC Center Director of ATI-RTC XII, warmly welcomed the participants. In her message she pointed out to set the mind that this training is not just a lecture alone but has hands-on activities. In addition, this training will prepare them for field visit and demonstration as they become the partner of ATI in the implementation of the program.

Moreover, Mr. Jim C. Raborar, Dormitory Manager II, shared the house rules to maintain the safety of the participants. In addition, Mr. Jayson V. Abang, Technical Staff, explained and shared the overview of the training to give them insights in preparation for their upcoming sessions and activities.

Dr. Gelyn V. Amilbahar, Instructor at USM – College of Agriculture, shared and emphasized the importance of transformational leadership for AEWs to encourage, inspire, motivate, and bring positive change in the community, especially among farmers.

Furthermore, the 30 participants actively participated in the exercises in solving actual problems using their learnings in transformational leadership. This aimed to disseminate the information to farmers.

This twelve-day training organized by the ATI-RTC XII Career Development and Management Section (CDMS) and Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) will conclude on June 14, 2024.
