The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII) celebrated the successful completion of the 12-day “Training of Trainers on Farm Business School” under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) program for Region XII. The training, held at ATI-RTC XII in San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato, culminated on August 16, 2024, with a graduation and closing program recognizing the 31 participants who completed the intensive course.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective farm business management. The sessions covered key topics including; Starting the Farm Business by Ms. Ma. Theresa B. Laxamana; Media Production Specialist II of ATI-RTC XII; Financial Literacy, and Keeping Records & FBS Meetings during Production Season by Mr. John Mikel D. Ternida, Accountant I; Understanding Basic Business Concepts by Mr. Noel D. Del Monte from OMAg Tupi; Rice Industry Situationer by Engr. Mokles P. Buisan, Training Specialist II of ATI-RTC XII; Developing a Vision and Goal for the Farm and Understanding Marketing & Markets Enterprise Profitability, and Developing a Business Plan by Ms. Agripina A. Leonico; and Value Addition by Engr. Teofilo T. Jumawan Jr. of ATI-RTC XII.

The training also included practical activities, such as a market survey in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, where participants analyzed market trends and presented their findings. Additionally, they visited JND Integrated Farm Institute Inc. and Organikian Urban Farm for a benchmarking activity, gaining valuable insights into successful farm business practices.

A highlight of the training was the development and presentation of business plans by the participants, demonstrating their ability to apply what they learned in real-world scenarios.
The culmination program featured the awarding of certificates of completion to all participants, alongside special awards for outstanding performances. The event concluded with a closing message from the OIC-Center Director of ATI-RTC XII, Dir. Shirley L. Beldia. In her speech, Dir. Beldia congratulated the graduates and challenged them to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills to enhance their farm operations.

The training not only empowered participants with essential business acumen but also fostered a sustainable agricultural industry in Region XII by equipping farmers and trainers with the tools needed for success.
