RCEF Basic Training Course on Inbred Rice Seed Production and Certification for New Deputized and Designated Seed Inspectors from August 19-23, 2024 in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center IX (ATI-RTC IX), as the catalyst, capacity builder, and knowledge bank of the Department of Agriculture (DA), in partnership with the Bureau of Plant Industry – National Seed Quality Control Services IX (BPI-NSQCS IX), is conducting a 5-day Basic Training Course on Inbred Rice Seed Production and Certification for newly deputized and designated seed inspectors. The training will take place from August 19-23, 2024, at Jackies Hotel in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

This training is under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) extension component which aims to identify and develop potential candidates for roles as deputized and designated seed inspectors within the region. It offers a comprehensive approach to empowering participants with advanced practices in rice production and fostering a new generation of qualified seed inspectors.

A total of 17 participants from the Provincial Agriculture Offices of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay, as well as representatives from the Municipality of Molave, Tampilisan, and the BPI-NSQCS IX, took part in this training.
