Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund- Rice Extension Services Program (RCEF-RESP) Interagency Consultation

On June 26, 2024, the Nueve RCEF Team orchestrated a pivotal consultation meeting for RCEF-RESP Implementing Agencies and RCEF Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) stakeholders. The strategic gathering took place at Farm C, Community Harvest, in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, marking a crucial juncture as Republic Act 11203 approaches its conclusion.

With RA 11203 nearing its end, this consultation served as an essential platform for comprehensive stakeholder engagement. The primary objectives were to evaluate the implementation progress; showcase key accomplishments; and address challenges encountered.
The meeting brought together a diverse array of key stakeholders, including Engr. Edgar B. Testa, DA-PhilMech Mindanao A Cluster Head; Engr. Iciel S. Librado, DA-PhilMech Region Focal; Ms. Mercedita Rabe, Senior TESD Specialist, TESDA-Zamboanga del Sur; Mr. Jefferson F. Dele, TESDA-Zamboanga Sibugay; Mr. Martin P. Jawom, Regional Seed Coordinator, DA-PhilRice Midsayap Station; Mr. Nino O. Codino, ATI-RTC IX point person; Ms. Sittie Norjanna Pala, RCEF Technical Assistant and representatives from RCEF LSA and Farm Schools in Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay

The event was honored by the presence of Hon. Junaflor Cerilles, owner of Farm C and mayor of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur. In her compelling address, Mayor Cerilles underscored the critical role of Farm Schools in the nation’s pursuit of food security and self-sufficiency.

The meeting facilitated an open forum where various LSAs raised pertinent issues, concerns, and challenges. These were systematically addressed by the relevant agencies, fostering a collaborative problem-solving environment.
