To strengthen and harmonize the implementation of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) in the region, a coordination meeting was held on July 12, 2022 at the DA-8 Conference Room, Kanhuraw Hill, Tacloban City.
Hosted by the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 8, the activity is attended by the key agencies involved in the implementation of RCEF, namely, Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Landbank of the Philippines (LBP), and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
DA-8 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez delivered a message and thanked everyone for the presence and support to the program. Also present were RTD for Operations Larry U. Sultan, RTD for Research Dr. Elvira C. Torres, division chiefs and support staff.
Among the topics to be discussed were the status/updates on the accreditation of farmers cooperatives and associations, implementation of program components covering mechanization, seeds, trainings and credit, as well as the harmonization of monitoring and reporting system.
