A five-day Training Course on Postharvest Technologies: Drying and Milling was conducted in Isulan City, Sultan Kudarat; and Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on March 13-17, 2023.
 
A total of 29 Farmers’ Cooperative and Associations (FCA) machinery beneficiaries with 47 participants attended the training comprising with 15 FCAs with 27 members from Sultan Kudarat, and 14 FCAs with 20 members from Zamboanga del Sur.
 
The participants were trained on the operation of different postharvest technologies such as multi pass rice mill, batch type recirculating dryer, mobile rice mill, flatbed dryer, and mobile dryer.
 
This training course is in support to the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Rice Extension Service Program (RCEF-RESP) Mechanization Program under RA 11203 also known as the Rice Tariffication Law which was principally authored by Sen. Cynthia Villar to benefit the local rice farmers and to address the crisis on high production cost and low productivity of rice. (FB, PhilMech TMTD RCEF)
