Around 1,600 rice farmers receive a cash assistance of P5,000 at the covered court of Barangay Sampaloc 2 in Sariaya, Quezon on Thursday.
The cash assistance was distributed to offset the income loss they experienced due to the implementation of tariffication and the removal of quantitative import restrictions on rice.
The distribution of cash assistance is part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) program under Department of Agriculture, facilitated by Senator Imee Marcos, Quezon Governor Angelina Tan, and other local officials.
