Mr. Jayson V. Abang, Technical Staff of the CDMS-RCEF, continued the discussion by emphasizing crop management. He highlighted the importance of avoiding excessive water or drought stress, which could severely affect the growth and yield of the crops (Key Check 6), no significant yield loss due to pest (Key Check 7), cut and thresh the crop at the right time (Key Check ๐ and how to dry, clean and store the seeds properly (Key Check 9).
The session was followed by the distribution of jackets, hats, and boots to be used during their actual field visit, which will be facilitated by the Bureau of Plant and Industry – National Seed Quality Control and Services (BPI-NSQCS) on May 30, 2024, at USMARC, USM Compound, Kabacan, Cotabato.
