Machinery distributed in Oriental Mindoro

Through the continued implementation of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program, the province of Oriental Mindoro received Php145 million worth of agricultural machinery during the provincial turnover held on November 27 in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

This program is implemented by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech). Making sure that all procured machines will be delivered on time and will not cause any delay in farmers’ operations on the ground.

PHilMech Director III, Joel V. Dator, challenges the farmers to use the machines properly, and hoping to help in contributing to the reduction of production costs and increased productivity.
The Php145 million budget are expected to benefit the 52 farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and the 13 municipalities of the province namely, Baco, Calapan City, Naujan, Pola, Socorro, Victoria, Bansud, Bongabong, Bulalacao, Gloria, Mansalay, Pinamalayan, and Roxas.
A total of 68 different agricultural machinery units were distributed, which include 17 four-wheel drive tractors, two precision seeders, three riding-type transplanters, 33 rice combine harvesters, and 13 mechanical dryers.

Provincial agriculturist and other government officials were present during the turnover ceremony. The machines distributed in the province were procured under the 2023 fund through transparent and competitive bidding.
