Pangasinan receives farm machines from RCEF

Thirteen qualified Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) in Pangasinan received farm machines amounting to Php18.7M from the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program during the agricultural machinery provincial turnover held in Santa Barbara, Pangasinan on November 15, 2023.

“Sana ang mga makinaryang ito ay makapagbigay tulong sa pag-unlad ng inyong mga buhay. Ultimately, sana makatulong ito para makatipid kayo, dumami ang inyong ani at higit sa lahat, tumaas ang inyong kita,” said Provincial Agriculturist Dalisay A. Moya during the turnover ceremony.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rodel Idago, the Interim Director for Extension, represented PHilMech Director IV Dr. Dionisio G. Alvindia, left a challenge for the members of the FCA in Pangasinan to take care of the machines they received from the program.
The challenge was soon accepted by the representative from Alaminos, Solomon Tablan, “Kung paano po ang pagmamahal na mayroon kami para sa aming pamilya ay gano’n din po ang pagmamahal namin sa mga makinaryang ito.”
Machines received by the FCAs this day include six units of hand tractors, one unit of walk-behind transplanter, and 10 units of rice combine harvester.
The FCA beneficiaries include the Alaminos City Agricultural Cooperative, Bocacleo Aguilar Farmers Association, Inc., Northern Bayambang Multipurpose Cooperative, Brgy. San Jose San Jacinto Pangasinan Farmers Association Inc., Barangay Pasileng Sur Binalonan Farmers Association Inc., Tangal Bingit Irrigators Association Inc., San VI West Farmers Association Inc., Northern Ambayaoan Tanggal Lakay Irrigators Association Inc., San Rafael-Lungao Irrigators Association Inc., LCCC-Lagasit Irrigators Association Inc., Manvista Irrigators Association Inc., CPCL Alisto Irrigators Association Inc., and Sitanglab Irrigators Association Inc..
The Representatives of the 4th and 5th Districts of Pangasinan, Atty. Gerard Tabadero and Hon. Jesus Basco, Office of the Regional Executive Director, and the Representative of Senator Cynthia A. Villar, Ms. Ruby Ann Matutino Pongotan, were all present during the activity.
For 2023, Pangasinan has received a total of Php63.5 million worth of machines. It includes six units of hand tractors, 18 units of walk-behind transplanters, 20 units of riding-type transplaters, two units of four-wheel tractors, and 17 units of combine harvesters. Among the provinces in Region I, Pangasinan has received the highest machinery grant from RCEF amounting to almost Php1 billion since the program started.
