The first batch of paddy seed distribution for Louisiana farmers for the season 2022 (Wet Season 2022) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Seed Component led by Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) was successful. This was conducted at the City Government, headed by Mayor Nestor Rondilla and Office of the National Farmers last May 2022.

340 bags of inbred seeds (170 bags of NSIC RC402 and 170 bags of NSIC NC480) were distributed among 241 Louisiana farmers and estimated 110.23 ha. total farm size reached by the PhilRice program.
