2024 Midyear Assessment of RCEF Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) and RCEF Farmers Information Technology Service (FITS) Center
With RA 11203 coming to an end, the ATI NUEVE led the 2024 Midyear Assessment of RCEF Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) and RCEF Farmers Information Technology Service (FITS) Center last July 3-5, 2024 in Pagadian City.
This midyear assessment serves as a critical final evaluation of the RCEF programs, specifically the LSA and FITS initiatives. It’s an opportunity to comprehensively assess the overall impact and effectiveness of these programs throughout the law’s implementation period. The review will help document the achievements, challenges, and lessons learned from the RCEF LSA and FITS programs.
All 14 RCEF LSAs/Farm Schools in the region were present during the midyear assessment from Zamboanga del Sur: Farm C Harvest Community Farm School Inc., Labangan Farmers First Consolidated (LAFFICO)-MPC, Miners Nature Farm, Saniel Integrated Farm Technological Business School Inc., Sunshine Word College of Technology Inc., Glepa Rice Farm, Inday Nature’s Integrated Farm, John Nature’s Integrated Farm; and from Zamboanga Sibugay: BAC JAZZ FARM Inc., Salam Natures Farm, Sibugay Technical Institute Inc. (STII), Zampen Farmers Zone Institute and Convergence Center Inc., Enrico Farm, and Kabasalan Agricultural Training and Assessment Center Inc.
For the remaining period of the law’s implementation, the midyear review can guide how to best allocate remaining resources to maximize impact in the final months. The findings from this assessment can provide valuable insights for policymakers considering future legislation or programs to support rice farmers and the agricultural sector.
The highlights of the 3-day activity are the presentation of accomplishments and issues per LSA/FITS Center per priority provinces; sharing of best practices, innovation and coping mechanism in addressing challenges; accomplish the monitoring and evaluation form of the status of implementation and services provided of the RCEF LSAs and RCEF FITS Centers; and prepare their semestral reports.
