As part of Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice’s) commitment to serving the rice farmers, knowledge products (KPs) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Seed Component and the Rice Extension Service Program (RESP) are continuously produced to support farmers’ rice planting endeavors.
For this year, a new brochure titled “PESTE AT SAKIT, LABANAN!” was produced and is now being distributed to the rice farmers during the RCEF Seed Distribution with the RESP. The KPs are being distributed by our partners in the local agriculture offices.
KPs are one way of improving the production of farmers with their research-based information and recommendation. RCEF-RESP and PhilRice also distribute calendars containing rice-related information that would aid farmers to achieve lesser cost and higher yield.
Almost 100% of the LGUs in region 6 and 7 has received the knowledge products.
