The Enterprise Development Division of PHilMech pilots the new training course on the operation and management of the rice processing enterprise in Region 2 which will cater to the RCEF-RPS beneficiaries, held on November 20-23, 2023 in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.

Around 11 members of various farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and representatives of the local government units (LGUs) from the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Isabela attended the said training workshop.

This aims to enhance the members’ understanding of the operation and management of the rice processing system to make it a sustainable enterprise. It will cover topics on the Rice Processing System, the RCEF Mechanization Program, and the Philippine rice industry.
Technically, it will discuss the grain anatomy and quality, measuring moisture contents, and financial aspects.

Marami kaming natutunan dahil kami ay nandito sa business na ito, na mai-a-apply namin sa aming operation, at we assure na hindi masasayang ang tulong na pinagkaloob ng gobyerno sa amin,” said Julie Madrid of the Payoga/Kapatagan Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The recipients of the RPS in the region who joined the workshop include the Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative, St. Catherine Parish of Nueva Vizcaya Multipurpose Cooperative, Saint Jerome’s Parish Multipurpose Cooperative, Bokod Sulfur Spring Multipurpose Cooperative, Municipal Local Government Unit of Quezon, Magapuy Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative, St. Vincent Parish Multipurpose Cooperative, Sadiri IA Multipurpose Cooperative, Payoga/Kapatagan Multipurpose Cooperative, Provincial Local Government Unit of Isabela, and Municipal Local Government Unit of Alicia.
