The municipality of Lala, Lanao del Norte started its seed distribution, after Lanao del Norte officially received their seed allocation through the turn over of inbred rice seeds during the RCEF kick-off ceremony and ceremonial seed distribution on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Farmer recipients from Lala were ecstatic to receive the free seeds produced by their local seed growers.
“I am thankful for receiving free seeds again; seeds are costly these days and this saves me from buying random varieties,” said Jesseline Digos a farmer from Brgy. Abaga

Meanwhile, Edgardo Lawas, a farmer from Lanibao expressed his appreciation for having the freedom to choose their preferred variety. He added that choosing Rc 160, which is currently in demand within their municipality means he does not have to wait long for buyers.

The seed distribution in Lala was organized in their Municipal gymnasium, which lasted for 3 days. Moreover, other municipalities will have their seed distribution on separate days depending on their set schedules. (FB, DA-PhilRice Agusan)
