DA-PhilRice Negros joined the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Information Caravan led by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) at Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on August 9

Representatives of collaborating agencies under the RCEF Program gave updates on the projects of Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Development Bank of the Philippines, ATI, Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), and Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) to the 30 officers from different farmer associations in Cauayan.

Krista J D. Dimzon, PhilRice Negros RCEF regional coordinator, discussed the requirements and process to claim the free certified seeds, along with the updates for regions 6 and 7 distribution status.

In addition, Dimzon reiterated to the farmers the proper management of high-quality seeds. PhilRice also gave out rice-related information materials.
