Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) conducts the 2nd batch of this year’s two-day feasibility study workshop for the beneficiaries of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program – Rice Processing System (RPS) held in Iloilo City on March 15 to 16, 2023.
 
Twenty-seven farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and local government units (LGUs)
representatives from Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Negros Occidental, and Capiz participated in the activity.
 
Participants include the Lezo Multi-purpose Cooperative; Poblacion Ilaya Irrigators Association; Negros Occidental Farmers and Agrarian Reform Cooperative; San Miguel Farmer’s Cooperative; Sara (FACOMA) Multi-purpose Cooperative; Newton-Camingawan- Para (NECAPA) Farmers Association, Inc.; Calubang Farmers Cluster Association (CAFCA); Batad Multi-purpose Cooperative; Kalipunan ng mga Magsasaka sa Patnongon (KAMAPAT); Municipal Local Government Unit of Candoni; Municipal Local Government Unit Of Pontevedra; and Municipal Local Government Unit of San Rafael.
 
 
They were taught the technical, marketing, organizational and management, and financial and socio-economic feasibility of operating the RPS. (FB, DA-PhilMech)
